I was born and raised in New Orleans and I have always had an innate creative desire. Working full time as a Registered Nurse who worked for Children's Hospital for 30 years in various capacities of nursing management and as the Executive Director of the Greater New Orleans Immunization Network, along with raising a family, made it extremely difficult to spend much time expressing my creativity. I did however find ways to keep my creative spark alive with different hobbies like sewing costumes, making various arts and crafts, and decorating cakes.
Although I started painting in 2020 during the pandemic, I lost the next 4 years having to fight my own battle against breast cancer and also simultaneously fighting alongside my husband, Phil, with his own terminal illness, IPF. He received a bilateral lung transplant in 2022 but passed away in 2024 due to organ rejection. Through these struggles painting became my new way to express my creativity and vision. This newly found passion has enlightened my soul. My only obstacle now is time.

Although I am a grandmother and have already lived a full life (as others would proclaim), I am not ready to sit idle. My mind and heart are ready for a new chapter. While I have painted various themes, portraits and landscapes, I see my art evolving into more meaningful subject matter.

When I first started creating art, I decided to put a tiny bluebird (as a tribute to my mother Birdy) in each of my paintings. It is often hidden but sometimes obvious. This little bluebird represents love and loss.

I hope you enjoy my creations as much as they bring joy to my spirit while creating them!
